Labyrinth tells of the adventures and hardships of a young girl named Sarah (Jennifer Connelly) whose little brother, a baby, must be rescued. He was taken by the goblins and their mighty and compelling ruler Jareth (David Bowie).

Sarah’s adventure begins when she enters the weird and seemingly endless corridors of the Labyrinth, in the center of which is Jareth’s castle. Immediately she discovers that, in this world, things are not always what they seem to be as she saw them at first glance. Creatures that she meets can be friends with her, but may also betray her. The rules may work, but also be broken. Hardships, difficult conundrums, obstacles and amusing incidents lie in wait almost at every corner for Sarah.

Sarah’s companion on her mission is Hoggle, a crabby, gnome-like little man, who already knows the passageways of the maze. Later she bumps into still another companion, a large, hairy, gentle monster named Ludo that she sets free from the power of a horde of cruel goblins. And then her group includes the brave Sir Didymus, a fierce creature who resembles a fox terrier and guards the bridge over the Bog of Eternal Stench.

Before the journey is at an end, she undergoes a series of adventures together with her friends that put her courage and her cleverness to the test – and Sarah learns the peculiar laws of the Labyrinth.
